Aeroden Runway 18/36 is now Game-Free!!

Postby John.com » Tue Apr 03, 2012 1:09 pm

Thanks to months of hard work by Basie and his team I am happy to report that a game fence has now been erected completely around runway 18/36 (under left wing)!!

Thanks Basie (^^) (^^)

Of course, always display vigilance on airfields with game in the vicinity!!

I fear the fence should be at least 5m from the runway. It poses a real threat. Hope Im wrong

Due to the width of the runway this may be an illusion that is created!

I am not sure what the regulations are for runways but the fences protecting Aeroden runway 18/36 from game are 25m apart!!

Perhaps Basie should only mow 5m on the centreline, which would provide the correct illusion of fence > edgestrip > > > > RUNWAY < < < < edgestrip < fence!

Definately not 2,4m but I would say slightly higher than 1,2m . . . . say 1,4m, or thereabouts!

I will measure tomorrow and post an exact measurement.

OK, I can confirm : the fence is 1,4m high!!

Some of the main posts and corner posts extend a little higher though.
