Info needed on St Lucia and surrounding Area

Postby Degies » Wed Feb 10, 2010 3:26 pm

Hi Everyone
A while ago, I was paging through a magazine and came across an aerial photo of St Lucia and the Wetlands area. Having a microlight, the idea immediately came to mind of taking a week’s leave, make St Lucia my base and do some flying around this area including the coast line of St Lucia, Mission Rocks, Cape Vidal etc. Knowing that this area is declared as a world heritage area, I was wondering if there are any microlight clubs/flyers operating in this part of the country that can assist me with the following:
• Does anyone have some information about microlighting in the St Lucia area?
• Is the St Lucia airstrip (next to the Croc farm) still open for public or is there another airstrip close by?
• Any contact details of the person/governing body in charge of this airstrip??
• Any special rules except the 500’ AGL over the Game Reserve area.
Regards
Johan
