Peters, you do not need any pointers except to say relax and enjoy this milestone. If your instructors are worth thier salt they would not recommend you for the test.

Tips are easy.

Postby John Young » Thu Nov 22, 2007 5:58 am

Tips are easy, for example, don't look out before turning - see if the instructor picks it up. -xX

When the instructor calls for HASELLL checks, just recite them -

H = Huh?
A = Ar$ehole! (softly under your breath)
S = Sh!t I can't remember
E = "Enuf"
L = Lights
L = Load
L = Laugh to show that you are relaxed and in control.

Or you could try -

H = Height - safe height - minimum 1 000' agl for a trike
A = Airframe (not really applicable to trike - no flaps, undercarriage etc.)
S = Seat belts - check instructor's seat belt too
E = Engine running well (check gauges) and sufficient fuel
L = Location - not above built up area or people
L = Landing - safe spot within 45 degrees
L = Lookout - ask instructor to assist as if he were a passenger

Switch off mags, grease it onto the runway, go and do the paperwork and then get (^^) (^^) (^^)

PS: Edited to sort out punctuation - got scewed-up with new software. :shock:

Peters,

I finished my MPL at Skyriders about 3 months ago. Before the flight test Fanie came to me and said: "I know you can fly. I wouldn't have allowed a flight test if you weren't ready".

My flight test was like any other training session. Just remember your checks and be ready for a few simulated-engine-outs...

Good luck on Sat. Hope the Wx plays along. -0<

Be cognisant of wind direction and the sun's position when pointing out your safe landing option to the “Destructor”.

Good luck – let us know !!!!

Also be alert for a simulated engine-out on your first take-off :shock: . Also make sure you keep a visual on the selected landing area when you are doing a forced landing, ie. do not turn you back on the landing area. The rest should be a piece of cake.

Good luck and enjoy. :lol:

Treat it as if you are taking your first pax for a flip and talk them through everything you are doing.
