If I remember correctly, no..

Max take off weight is 450kg's, less weight of trike 270kg's, less weight of 150kg's leaves 30kg's for PIC and fuel ?

Weight of trike is more like 200kgs, so:

MTOW 450kg
Trike 200kg (all up, excluding fuel)
Pax 150kg
PIC & Fuel 100kg (if PIC 80kg, that allows for 20kg fuel, which is equivalent to about 27 liters of fuel - say 90mins of flight time!)

You are definitely pushing the boundaries, but not dangerously so. Watch density altitude as this weight will extend your take-off roll quite significantly!

I have flown in my aircraft with a VERY hefty passenger, but made the flight at 5.30am to get the benefit of the cooler air!

Here is an extract from my checklist, which you may find useful:

Nothing wrong with being professional and safety conscious....well done John! (^^)

Read and learn guys.... :)

Its very simple....450kg MAUW (check according to type!)....exceed that and you are overweight....hence illegal.

Limits are limits. :)

Advise to first get medical out the way.

Between finding a brave instructor he might be advised on his benefit and future pax about losing some weight and flying with minimum juice, density altitude e.t.c.

I trained on a 503 single, both weights 210 kg with a sniff of juice and turned out just fine. :)

I am 120 and have flown with other guys my size in a windlass. Not smart. You have 2 restrictions. 1 the MAUW of the trike and 2. The max weight that the seat can handle. Most aircraft are only designed for a max seat weight of around 80-100kg so just be careful to use the MAUW as your only criteria.

Very good point Stefan, thanks! vhpy

I don't see any "seat limit" weight in my Aquila's manual...but considering the seat is held on by 3/4" plastic plumbing holderbats...my guess is over 100kg and you are perhaps pushing it?
