Solo!!!!!!In my Thunderbird.!!!

After about 27 Hrs.!!!
Congratulations to my instructor Paul Kinsley at Springs who manage to get me this far..
He endured me be-ing slower than the average student, not because I am stupid, but because i am older.!!( and stupid.!!)
Yeah, there is lots of stress on an instructor!!
I am bussy with Jim Davies,s book on flying and hope to do my exsams very soon.
Not many years of fly-ing ahead for me but I am going to make the most of whatever is left.
Having done 350 hrs with my trike I must admit that there is more fly-ing involve with the fixed wings than with a trike..
BUT, I will never get rid of my trike..Because trike flying is great and safe.!!!

Jy maak net een fout oor die ouderdom. Die naweek by Gariep , was daar n omie wat 73 is. As jy my vra , lyk dit of hy op 80 nog sterk gaan wees.
Dalk is dit die Gyro wat hom so jonk hou.

The good news is that I eventually got my licence.
Paul Kinsley , my VERY patient instructor, at Springs, was happy with my performance after 40 hrs.
Do I need to say that I can only guess that it takes a little longer to get your licence when you are older..???
Thanks Paul for your help (and your courage ) to teache this old ballie.
My big thrill was to fly the Thunderbird after I got my licence from Springs to my farm in Marble Hall.
Sorry gents, if I sound a little windgat but it was such a wonderfull feeling to land the aircraft on the farm and to put it in the hanger witch I have built specially for the occasion.
