Licencing for gyro and homebuilt helicopter

Can anybody enlighten me on the licence needed to fly a homebuilt helicopter ?

Is it a class on it's own like the gyro, or do you need to do a propper chopper licence ?

All choppers, factory, kit or homebuilt, require a PPL, a very expensive exercise

A gyro, requires a National Pilot's licence, Gyro rating

Actually an HPL(Helicopter pilot's license) Morph :)
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.
