Hi Ladies and Gents,
I recently had the pleasure to meet some of the really pleasant folk of the Grahamstown Flying club. Having had limited exposure to Microlight and PFA industries in the UK, I would really like to take a closer look at the MPL and get my head around the practical attributes of ML ownership, maintenance and enjoyment.
I'm based in West Beach, Blouberg so am able to travel throughout the pensinsula, as well as Fisantekraal and ContermansKloof. Would someone please be so kind and tell me what and when would be the most convenient time to visit one of the fields for a bit of a "whatfor".
Kind regards
Lawrence Brown

You can also try Johann Froneman at the Saldanha Airfield. Nice new clubhouse and great bunch of guys at the club.

Hermanator,
I am also in West Beach
We are usually at the airfield on Saturdays. Typically we fly in the morning and end up having a braai around midday. You are welcome anytime
As far as fields go, Morning Star is the biggest in population with about 80 to 100 planes of all types. Then you have Wintervogel and Fisantekraal, Goedverwacht, Grootfontein, Delta 200, Contermanskloof, Sandkloof and finally Altona (1 plane I think)

From West Beach two ways.
1. Longer route. Head up the R27 to Melkbos. Turn right (M19) at the traffic lights and follow the rd to T-junction with the N7, Turn right down the N7 and follow for about 4.5km. Left turn into the Van Schoorsdrift RD (there will be a sign for the Cape Town Show Farm). About 800meters up the rd will be a left turn to Keoberg Flight Park. The sign is obscured in between some Bluegum trees. Alternatively look for the Chevron signs on the trees. Follow the road into Morning Star and stop opposite the Clubhouse.
2. Shorter route but less savoury. Head south along the R27 until Bayside Shopping centre. Turn left into Blaauwberg RD. Follow all the way until T-juntion with Potsdam Rd. Left, Pass Killarney Race Track and Killarney Gardens industrial centre. Pass through De Noon informal Settlement (doors locked and lookout for kids, dogs and drunks). Rd eventually ends with a sharp right turn. Turn right then immediately left on to the N7. Head up the N7 until the Van Schoorsdrift right turn(there will be a sign for the Cape Town Show Farm). . from there same as above
See you Saturday
