Cheetah intro flight

Postby Optic » Wed May 20, 2009 12:06 pm

Hi Guys,

Interested in going up in a Cheetah with the aim of seeing if I fit in the aerie and possibly buying one in future.

Anyone know of anyone close to me who I can contact? Live in the West Rand Jhb.

Thanks

You can also do an intro flight here and training too. www.microlightadventures.co.za
Special price is R398k + vat for a 812S engined cheetah and good specced.
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.

He meant a Rotax 912 ULS. It is a 100HP 4 stroke engine that can run off mogas. It is, to my knowledge, the most powerful engine you can put on the Cheetah. See http://www.rotax-aircraft-engines.com/a_engine_912.htm - but if you look at the technical drawings and specs on the site be sure to select the 912 ULS option.
If you don't have the Cheetah site, here it is: http://www.aerotrike.co.za
Hope this helps

Not quite correct TN, you can also fit the 120 HP six cylinder Jabiru motor which also works like a charm. No problem slapping that into the front of the Cheetah.. also a lovely engine, very reliable and a 2000 TBO. Quite a bit cheaper than the rotax im led to believe..

Thanks Dish!
I'll remember that.
Stephan said the 819s and he must have meant the 912s as I have never heard of an 812s!
But otherwise, I accept defeat! (**)

Yip - your 100 % right about that.. No such thing as an 812. I only heard about the jabi fitting into the Cheetah yesterday, so hey, no worries.... I love that 120Hp Jabi motor though.... believe it comes in at about 130,000 which is very very reasonable..

anyway......

Yes slip of the finger there. 912s Rotax was meant to say.
Yes factory will fit the 3300 jab if you take them one to install.
Special offer is R380K for the 912S, R350K for the 912 Ul - 80hp, and R300k for the 582 - all those prices + vat of course.
See the July issue of african pilot for more detail on those special offers.
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.

Ray

I tend to avoid posts where I see your name, cause of that bloody ugly thing in your avatar staring at me.

Maybe it is just me, but for one that uses the forum to advertise his product, maybe you must reconsider your avatar.

That thing will not help you sell a product - to me in any case.
