So true! Never thought of it in THAT way, but yes, I have to agree with you - every design also has it's pitfalls.

I've got 2 whip stall vids taken of trikes...I get the shivers every time I watch them....

After having seen a trike tumble, I have since politelely refused ever to get on board one. :shock:

you are so wrng about the flat spin...most planes CAN NOT even spin ...a flat spin is an aerobatic move...you have to FORCE a plane ..even like a Extra or Cap or one of those to flat spin...it DOES NOT just happen

Getting back to trike tumbling. The most common way of getting into one is stalling while in a nose up attitude. Firstly you shouldn't be in that situation but going "shoot-ups" and climbing away from the field too steep and experiencing a loss of power can lead to it. I suppose a stall at low enough speeds and with the wing in could do it aswell.

I was taught to keep the wing forward and then when the wing is level turn off to the side. Resist the temptation to pull the wing in.
