Let us know how it goes. Just pulled the practical skill test of RAASA's website and it looks tough....

Thought it is just like 30min flying. Skill test will be over a 80nm or more distance. includes:

Preflight; Taxiing; climbing turns; med turns; steep left and right turns without loosing alt; stalls; slipping turns (how do I do a slipping turn in a trike??@!); after flight procedure.

No problem really. But if you have a difficult instructor he could make it hard on you... Will see on Mond...

Don’t worry too much. Just treat the instructor as a first time pax. They sometimes forget to put on safety belts, helmet straps etc. Explain everything you do.

When you do your check preflight etc. say everything out loud. When doing checks in the air say out loud "Clear left clear right" before turning etc.Remember your HAZEL check before stall is demonstrated.
Good luck, Relax and enjoy!!!

But heres a quickie question, Can one complete the flight test before completing the exams, in other words, have all the "practical" done before the "theory" - if so then i will book my flight test soonest as well handle the exams after that. Must admit for me its a complete &&*(*(***&^% bind having to go all the way to FAAP to wite each subject??
Hi Dish,

You can do your flight test before you completed your exams. The catch comes in that when you pass your flight test, you have a wopping 30 days to complete the exams, or you need to do the flight test again.

Rather do all the exams, and then the flight test.

If you tell me who is going to be doing your flight test, (I presume its Louis) I will try and sweet talk him into being kind. (Fat Chance! ) Kidding!

Hi guys

Finally got my license!!!!! (!!) Took me 26.3 hours to complete and about 11months (bit long I know) I also see that I joined this site on the six of May last year. So just made it before a year has passed.

Thanks for all the support on the site. And especially to Wargames, GertCoetzee, Harlequin and Aerosport - Louis van Wyk! Very happy that I trained with you.

Now the fun begins!!!

Cheers
Karl

(^^) (^^) (^^) (^^) (^^) (^^) Congrats Karl. I hope that now you have so much fun that you will reconsider selling the trike. And 11 months is not long at all. Hope you have many wonderful flights, and actually the real learning starts now.

Fly safe.

Thanks all and Dish

Ja, pushing the plane out for the first time; being free from signing in at the school; paying them for the exact time that lapsed on the hobs etc must be a lekker moment. Holding thumbs for better weather here in the Cape now.
