Hey Trikenut,

Tell me something, how long has it taken you in days since you started flying to get where you are?? I asked Boris from Witbank on the weekend how many weekends I needed, and he said some guys fly evberyday and take 5 months!! :( I dont wanna wait that long!! I'm thinking of doing my theory stuff first and getting exams behind me, then just flying!! YEAH!!

No 2 people will take the same amount of time and depending on your weather and actual time flying it will differ how long you take to get a license. I started the 25th of August last year doing an LSA license and finished the 7th of december having done 55 hours of flying in that time. I didn't fly every day but there wasn't a week that I didn't fly at least 2 days in the week for at leat an hour at a time.
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.

Hey, I'm only 13, so its still gonna take a while...
Stephan is right, no 2 people take the same time. For example: Some people master landings within an hour, some guys take 4 to do it!
I have now got 3.1hrs, but I would have +/- 5.1hrs had the weather been better: This is since about September (I think) last year, going to the airfield once a month!

you go my boooi - Im still struggling to find the time to even START the exams... But heres a quickie question, Can one complete the flight test before completing the exams, in other words, have all the "practical" done before the "theory" - if so then i will book my flight test soonest as well handle the exams after that. Must admit for me its a complete &&*(*(***&^% bind having to go all the way to FAAP to wite each subject??

Hi Dish

Passed those 2 subjects yesterday. Still leaves Met to do. I plan to write it Sat or Sun so that only the flight test remains. One guy in my hanger did the flight test before his exams (few years back - but sure it still applies) The flight school will just hold back on paperwork till you have passed all 6 subjects.

Realized again yesterday. Study well - more than one source of material. Go write. If you fail, re-write asap. And review the questions you had wrong online. It allso gives the corect answer. Help me allot.

Larry allso recommended on does the Mock exams. Cd is about R400.

Good luck! (**)

Think im going to try and do it that way.... 2 thing stand in my way now. 1. Flight test and 2. exams. I have no issue at all with the flight school holding back until exams written but i feel that i have become a bit stagnant now because i havent had time for exams (just circumstance) and as a result i also havent been in the air for a short while... so i will phone the guy who i believe will do my flight test, see what he says...

Good idea. At least that will be out of the way. Exams you do not need more than 3hours of studying per exam. Serious, I allso had no time to do them but I did. Surely you can find 3 hours in a week to study and write 1 exam????

3hours for a whole weeks is not asking much Dish. And as I said engines and airframes is commen sense / general knowledge of fuel, engines, instruments. Thus in 5 weeks you can be done for only 3 hours a week! Call now for this once in a life time oppertunity! :-)

No three hours a week is great, and then driving all the way out from fourways to harties to write an exam is fabulous. I ask you with tears in my eyes, why cant i write the exams at home, in my home office, ?? do Raasa think i will be cheating on my exams....?? probably they do

anyway - whats gotta be done has gotta be done.

Another thing just FYI - i was chatting to instructor who said that on the PPL course, an average of 40% complete the license based purely on all the admin BS that comes with it. Okes just eventually call it quits and stop flying. Sad, cos i wonder how many okes our sport loses due to administrative BS ??

But wait, there's more! Call know and we will explain how to complete the exams in 3 weeks time for the the same price as the above.

No seroius Dish. Go on RAASA's website and looked for a closer school just to do the exams then.
