At the moment 200 hours flying time. You need to go on an instructors course, write the exams and do patter with another instructor. This will class you as a grade a instructor where you can give lessons. You will not be able to send a student solo.

Best thing to do is phone Geoff Dyer, he can give you all the info or details of someone in your area.

Hi Leftie, quite right. For the exeption, that you will start out as a grade C instructor, and work your way to a grade A eventually.

Things are changing a little bit from february. Go and read PART 62 here http://misasa.flyeaaforum.com/?p=558
and you'll get an indea of what it will look like. Even the instructor ratings will be handled through RAASA and specific to the microlighters. Only time you will have to go outside the RAASA setup is to become a DE and for that you have to be a part 61 Com pliot. A DE is the guy that you need to go to to get your test rating for becoming a Grade A instructor that can then sign out class B and C instructors.
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.

I'm currently looking for a full time, or semi-full time instructor at Panorama airfield (Johannesburg Microlight Academy). I suggest Geoff Dyer (at light flight, Cato Ridge) or Brian Young (Barberton), for the instructor course. It is about a week long course, involving theory and exams, as well as about 10hrs of patter. If you are looking to fly for me, I will help with some of the patter flying...

We have 2 very nice 582 Raptors, and will have a new 3-axis in the new year.
