HAS SOLO AGE GONE DOWN

Postby pilot 4 ever » Sat Jul 05, 2008 7:25 pm

Hi guys
I have just started my microlights lisense and I want to know has the solo age for microlights gone down to the age of sixteen or is it still at seventeen.
I know for fixed wing and helicopters you can go solo at the age of sixteen but you cant get your lisense until you are seventeen.

Thanks
For pilots the sky isnt the limit, its our home......

I heard that the law changed it to 16 last year.
But only get your licence when you're 17.
I have tried to find out too.
No luck.
In Oz training can start at 14 and solo when 15 :)

You may only get your student pilot licence at 17. You need to have a student pilot's licence before you can go solo. Therefor solo age is 17. However you can start learning earlier and fly dual with an instructor.

Welcome Pinkfluff,

I'm assuming by the Pink, and the Fluff and the Prada that you are a softness (our term for beautiful lady, mind you I have been wrong with this one once or twice    )

Be that as it may, It's nice to see young ladies also keen on joining the flying world. There are too few of you.

enjoy your flying, have fun and keep us updated on your progress

HI All

I am pretty sure you can get a SPL at 16, go solo at 16, and get a lic at 17, for MPL. Have a young student at the moment, and this was told to me by CAA, and have got the spl etc, in hand.

Cheers

* * * * * * Luckily, a cleavage is not mandatory for the license, but highly recommended?????

Welcome to the family, and enjoy the smell of the air with the odd whiff of oil & petrol. * * * *
