I have to admit, that if I am not flying the first slot in the morning, seeing AZZ in the air on my way to the field is a beautiful thing, at least I know that chances are very good that I will be flying as well... vhpy

Busy with training in Grahamstown with Larry, 10 hours so far and should solo soon. Originally started to do PPL at 43 Air School in Port Alfred but stopped at 27.6 hours due to finances. Can honestly say that I enjoy the trike more than Cherokee, and would like to see some of these fixed wing instructors landing a trike. I would say the trike is far more challenging than a Cherokee to land, totally new ball game. vhpy vhpy vhpy

Hey Flo and I are often up there looking at the okes on the highway thinking: "F**&!!! Life could be worse..... we could be one of those 'boxes' on their way to work.... "
We'll have to review that morning prayer now! Sorry guys. Nothing personal. :)

Hey guys. My first post on the forum! vhpy
I'm training with LarryMcG in Grahamstown. Done about 8+hrs so far and looking forward to lots more. Currently busy with circuit flying, take-offs and landings etc. Lots to learn but really enjoying it. Great forum and a great community of flyers here - keep it up!

For all those 'about to go solo pilots'
Hang in there if you stuggling there is no shame in having to do a couple extra hours to get it right, you will get it right eventually and the extra hours will only eneft you anway

Hey Tracer - thanks very much. I'm close to 10hrs now and pretty happy with my performance so far. I've really had zero aviation exposure until I started the licence so it's all pretty new still. I've just started to get the hang of glide / engine-on landings now and did a couple of good ones on my own yesterday arvie (not solo...yet). Getting the "feel" for the landings really takes practice! Kind of similar to getting your "eye in" on the golf course, I think...

A long road ahead though but looking forward to it. Trying not to give my instructor too many heart attacks in the meantime...(sorry Larry)

Also, thanks to Coastwise - the PPL books are a very interesting read bud. Lots to learn.
