Hi all,
Looking for some advice. Myself and a friend baught a microlight 2weeks ago. zu-bge. Hangared at microland for now.
We now need to do training on this machine. What are the chances of doing the rating on our own machine?
We both fly for a living, so what is the best way to go about learning this whole new side of life? In terms of getting it on our licence etc.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Petrus.

What a Life!
Indeed, it is a new ball game. You did not say if the microlight is a three axis or wheightshift. AFAIK for a fixed wing you only would need a conversion. For weightshift you need a MPL. At least that was the status when I did my trike conversion. I believe there are some changes in the pipeline regarding this as from next year.Petrus07 wrote:No, we have cpl's(fixed wing). Never flown a microlight before. Whole new ballgame I think.
Oh, and a bit of well meant advice. I don't know what you fly commercially, but be very aware of the concept "new ballgame". Listen very carefully when the experienced microlight pilots and instructors talk about the weather, and micro meteorology. It plays a significantly bigger role than if you fly the heavies.
Regards, and have fun,
