Oh c'mon, flip the switches! It gives you quite a rush, for free. I did about 45mins worth of deadsticks on Wednesday and just dig that silent descent, wondering whether the donkey will wake up again, which it failed to do most of the times. Better to go to a long strip for this, like ODI. The only problem there is the ever-present tendency to start the goose walk on the solid surface when landing a bit slow, with a cross wind and no mill to assist.

Chars.

What's the reason for the motor not restarting inflight? I put it down to flooding?

I always just think of the hangliders, how many of them die or get injured per year? Besides I can't really speak about deadsticks, have done many in fact I can count them on one hand and a crooked finger

Next time bring the power back to idle before flipping the switches. Done lots of deadsticks and never struggled to restart. For safety put the mags on after the motor died to make restarting easier if time is little.
