The CAA site is quite useful in this regard :shock:

This is the link to the section with registed aviation medical practisioners:
http://www.caa.co.za/resource%20center/ ... e/add.html

A tip to get in front of the queue in Cape Town area is to go to Dr Stoners offices at Cape Town international, I saw Dr S. Levy. The Cape Town offices had a three day waiting period.

For those in the West Rand, go to the Life Extension Institure (Mayo Clinic in Flora CLinic) They do everything in one place including x-ray all in approx 1 hour. I think the aviation doc only comes in on tuesdays though.

Pinetown Medicross

I obtained permission from Dr. Foster to include the following, namely;

Dr. Richard Foster MBBCh, Cert.Travel Med.(SASTM)
SAA-Netcare Travel Clinic - Durban, S. Africa
Travel Med Consultant
Designated Aviation Medical Examiner

Located at Pinetown Medicross – Cnr. Old Main Road and Mellow Road, Pinetown.
Phone 031 – 709 3070
E-mail – travelkzn [AT] medicross.co.za – replace [AT] with @ no spaces

Morph – how many Doctors do we have as Forum Members? :?: It would be nice if we could encourage a few to join and give a professional opinion from time to time. Here I refer to issues such as what medication should not be taken prior to being PIC etc. :idea: This would be in the form of a direct response to a direct question – rather than a reference manual or thesis.
