Hi Bennie

Contact Roelf Palm at 082 653 7475. He does training from Springs with his Ela 07, but also does demos from Kitty Hawk with the new MT-03. He sometimes goes to different parts of the country as well for a week or so to do training.

He has been doing it for over ten years, full time, and in my opinion he is one of the most competent gyro training instructors currently. In his experience he will also give you suitable answers to your questions.

He will give you a decent intro flight with you taking the controls in front. This is the only way for you to experience the joy of gyro flying for real. !!!!

Trust me, you will never want anything more. I am currently trying to sell the wife, dog and its kennel - together or seperately - to get a gyro.

P.S. Be aware though when discussing different makes of gyros with him. He is not totally objective.

Gyro Training Q's

Postby Huey-1 » Fri Nov 10, 2006 7:51 am

Good Morning! :?:
I realize this has been asked before, but I would so much like to know how does the training on a gyro work? How many hours does one need for a PPL, how quick or slow can a PPL be done, and how much does a gyro cost?
Enjoy y'r day!

Gyro Training

Postby Condor » Wed Dec 13, 2006 2:43 pm

I completed my training at 303 Squadron at FABB, where you have access to three excellent instructors and a Magni M16 that they allow you to fly solo with (if you do not own a Gyro) or buy a single control M22 (useless for training, nice aircraft).

See the link
