The eyesight thing is a personal issue with me. I passed my medical no problems but seriously wish I could see better. (Some of the guys I fly with can see the ball hairs on a muggie at 200m). To mitigate this deficiency : my experiance is type of eyewear that suits trikers, my personal preference is tungston type glasses frames they flex easier with the headphones on, I need the auto tinting but that can be a bitch sometimes, visor is also a good option. My specs setup is part of my CHIPS check to to make sure they are on right on takeoff, its not easy to correct them in flight. I also make sure guys know where I am when I am airborne to ensure they can see me. I am sure I will get a reputation for talking too much on the radio

. After 2 close shaves I now fly 1/2 mile or so off the GPS line after takeoff and the same on approach.
My 2c worth.
