I'm wrapping up my PPL now and want to fly a tri-axis and enclosed microlight to build my hours up.
What microlight is the best for the task?
Can a PPL fly one after conversion or is it seperate licence?
Any other advice?

Re: PPL in a microlight
There is quiet a few 3-axis microlights that can be flown on MPL or PPL. Thunderbird, Cubby, Bushbaby, Jorra and Jabbaru just to name a few
Working is for the birds

As the law stands at the moment you can fly any 3 axis aircraft on a PPL licence. Bantam, Jora, Jabaru, Sting etc. You will have to do a seperate licence to fly a Trike. (weight shit)

Fly a LSA rather than a microlight, or you only get half the hours credit on your PPL. Many of the aircraft already mentioned can also be registered LSA.

I am currently flying the Savannah with MPL. I must renew my license shortly. Does any body know the prosedure to convert to sportmans license?

You need to do a flight test (now called a skills test) and submit that together with a license renewal application to RAASA. All the documents you need to submit are on the application form. These foms can be downloaded from the RAASA website.
