GRS Emergency Rescue Parachute Systems

Postby Abe » Wed Jan 16, 2008 2:03 pm

Good deals on Rescue Parachute Units.

Hi fliers!
www.galaxysky.cz had extra capacity in their winter and offered me 10% discount on 10 units.
I could have pocketed the R20k but since I import the chutes in the interest of flight safety, will give it to the buyers.
This batch has just landed and surplus to advance orders the following chutes are now in stock: (Prices exclude VAT)
GRS 3/450 Soft B2 for GT450 or other inside mount. R18017.
GRS 6/600 SD Soft Speedy B with Kevlar strap for glider. R27325.
GRS 5/560 Soft B2 Special with four Kevlar straps for Icarus C42: R23907.
GRS 5/560 Soft B2/R/U suitable for many fixed wing aircraft: R17816.
GRS 5/560 Soft B1/R for fixed wing aircraft that cannot fit above: R21470.
GRS 3/350 OUT for single seater trike R16740.
GRS 4/450 OUT for dual seat trikes: R19925.
GRS 4/450 OUT with mount for Thunderbird/Bantam R20613.
A Kevlar strap costs about R500 depending on lenght and a steel cable R200.

Good afternoon Abe, I just would like to enquire whether a galaxy system can be safely installed within a Raven/ Zodiac and what system with associated price you would recommend.

Highly appreciated

GRS ballistic chute Sale!
It is good that we seem to be flying safer these days. With fewer scares and perhaps due to the economic downturn, sales of GRS chutes have however dropped and I find myself overstocked on the normally fast-moving units for trikes.
I expected the Rand to drop and imported ten extra GRS3/450 OUT's. Then the Rand strengthened against the Euro and I can now import them for less. Then a consignment GRS chutes got stuck in my warehouse with no way of getting to their buyer in Australia. (No more cargo only flights to Oz, uneconomical by sea since dangerous cargo must go in their own container..)
Since I need the cash to import other stuff, I am now selling GRS units at the lower replacement cost, and deducting a further R1000 towards the first repack on those a year old.
GRS 3/450 OUT 190km/h R23000 +VAT
GRS 3/350 OUT 190km/h R21000 +VAT
GRS 5/472 Soft B1/R/A R20000 (Private no VAT. one year old, out of a Rans Coyote)
GRS 6/600 Soft SLSA 222km/h R32000 +VAT (Cancelled order)
Technical specs can be seen at www.galaxysky.cz
Once the Rand drops, (I bet soon after the soccer) you will never again get a chute at these prices.

Exchange rates and ageing stock has me in a vice.
I can import new units much cheaper than historical cost price of stock in hand.
To recover some of my capital, I am now selling at parity import cost and deducting R2000 for each year in stock.

GRS 3/450 Soft B2 190km/h 2010 R26700 (As fitted to Quick 450's and such)
GRS 3/450 Soft B2 190km/h 2010 repack R20000 (Stanley Louw's)
GRS 3/450 OUT 190km/h 2008 R22000 (Five in stock)
GRS 3/350 OUT 160km/h 2006 R15000
All prices VAT included.

Regards,
Abe.

Do you still have parachutes?

Hi Abe, Are you able to do a repack on a Galaxy 5 560 ? If so at what cost. Do you install or supply only?

Good evening Bobsmyuncle,
Apologies for the delay in responding, I do not check in here every day.
Yes, last month I got a repack back, it cost the owner R11700 there and back, all included.
Turnaround time is dependent on getting at least another three orders together, otherwise it is very expensive.
I sometimes help with fitting GRS.

Hi Flyers,
If your GRS needs repacking/service, now is a good time.
I am sending a batch of chutes to the Galaxy factory for repack, two per box cheap normal airfreight. (Rockets defueled)
They will then return in one big consignment with some new systems as dangerous goods, Sharing this expensive leg will save each customer Thousands of Rands. Next opportunity not likely this year.
I still have 2 x new GRS 3/450 Soft systems going cheap. (Suitable for inside mounting on Quick and similar trikes)
