Dual Communications systems for farm, counter poaching use.

Postby ZULU1 » Fri May 18, 2012 4:28 pm

We have been making a dual system for the Mountain rescue teams, counter poaching teams for several years now. They are very time consuming to manufacture. We are now about to produce another batch. Up until now we have been able to meet the MOQ. I am now offering to the forum these units.

They are a dual radio link up, airband priority, two ptts on the same button. They accept any airband radio and virtually every PMR (public mobile radio) made, even Tetra radios. they also have a tracker input. This is a very unique device as its very difficult to interface a PMR radio with a airband radio and include an intercom. Most farm users use a PMR radio daily so we advise a Vee rabbit antenna set at the frequency of the unit and fitted to the Kingpost and the standard airband antenna in its original position.

Basically you can communicate on the farm radio as normal with game rangers, bakkies, security vans, offices and so on. In the event of an incoming aviation radio call it automatically mutes the PMR radio and allows full communication with airband. They are being used by counter poaching teams with great success in Tanzania at present. The pilot just presses the PTT to suit the radio required in use.

Each installation is different but for a trike as a guide to costing as an example expect to pay about R5,200.00 with two headsets, suitable for lets say a Vertex VXA220 and a Kenwood TK3307. Ready to fly.

We also make intercoms for use solely for PMR radios as well. These have been fitted to R22s as a seperate intercom and stand alone. Several in Namibia.

Centrifugal force in pure Physics does not exist, however this does not apply to Taxi drivers..

Would have been the perfect solution for our gyros which provided aerial support for Amageza 2012
