Hi All,
Need some assistance please.
I need to buy MIL-H5606 brake fluid, any idea where i can find it or its equivalent in Jhb? Matco the manufacturer does not recommend Dot 3, 4 or 5 due to the glycol content. What does everybody else use?
Dont send me to Aviation engines cause they dont stock any such stuff.
Thanks

We don't use brake fluid in the Bush Baby disk brakes, because it can really mess up your paint work. We use Automatic transmission fluid. Same stuff you use in a powersteering system as well. Works like a dream.

I fully endorse Morph suggestion. In the aviation world they use Aeroshell 4 fluid . ATF is a twin brother of AeroShell 4 . As Morph suggested the brake fluid is corrosive

Interesting - seems to be used in power sttering systems as well. Check the equavalents...

looks like what you want is aeroshell 4.

contact these guys and ask them about hydraulic fluid that will specify that spec - they recommend it to be used in some of their systems.

I go along with Morph on this one,use power steering fluid. It can take a lot of heat and is not hydroscopic like brake fluid(absorbs moisture like a sponge, then you got NO brakes) and doesn't attack brake rubber seals/o rings

Make sure the brake system rubber seals are compatible with the ATF oil. (Automatic Transmission Fluid. Red in colour.)
