Most popular Rotax 2 stroke prop bolt pattern?

Postby justin.schoeman » Sat Jan 10, 2009 11:34 am

I am ordering my prop (IvoProp, in flight adjustable), and reduction drive (Niel Terblanche). I can order both with specific bolt patterns.

Since I am not 100% sure that the VW will work well in the airframe, I want to make sure that the prop is as re-sellable as possible. The VW redrive give left hand prop rotation (the same as a Rotax 2-stroke). Since this is also probably the most common microlight engine, it makes sense to specify a bolt pattern that matches.

The problem is, it seems that at least 2 different bolt patterns are used. Can anybody tell me which is the most common? Or are there any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Thanks Boet. Rotax bolt patterns are very confusing. I would have thought they would standardise between all their products!

Just got the bolt pattern diagrams from Aviation Engines. It seems the C and E gearboxes have holes for both 75mm PCD and 100mm PCD - is this correct?

Wouldn't it be better to use 75mm PCD then, as this seems to be compatible with just about every Rotax 2 stroke?

Thanks,
Justin
