Hi All
I, once again, need to tap into the vast knowledgebase of this forum. Hopefully as I gain experience, I can soon help someone else in the same way.
I have recently upgraded my Icom radio with a Vertex 300 Standard and sended my Buzzcom intercom in for a service and conversion for the new radio. Everything came back and what a difference vhpy I Crystal clear and working. Until last week :? after a perfect landing taxing back to the hangar, all of a sudden the silence was broken by the interference from the engine over the headphones. Opened the pod and found a loose PTT wire that I soldered back but the engine noise was still there. (It is most possible that I accidently broke of the wire when I opened the pod.) Anyone had a similar problem before that can give me pointers as to where to search for the problem?
PS I just thought about the ANL (Automatic Noise Limmiter?) function on the radio and see that it is indeed turned off  Will test and see if that is my problem this afternoon, any other sugesstions if I am not succesfull?

Hi Kingpost,

If all else fails check the following:
1. The Buzzcom system has a small power supply come noise reducer , usually where the fuse fits in to...it could possibly be faulty
2. The spark plug caps...one could have packed up resulting in the interference.
3. I recently had main battery problems where the battery would not retain charge after flights and the next weekend I will experience interference up until 20 minutes into the flight, and then the interference will decrease. I only use main bettery power as the radio battery no longer charges. After replacing the 12 V battery all was rectified.

Hope you do not have to go to these lengths to get the problem sorted.

Regards
