Before take off i let my engine warm up to 55deg C and sometimes to 60deg. I take off and the EGT's are at the lower end of the green band.
Later on in the flight after some low level i increased the power to maximumum and this time the EGT's were on the high end of the green arc (close to 620 deg). I bring the power back to 5300 rpm and it cools again.
1 Does the water temp have an effect on the EGT?
2 Is There a lag in the EGT reading?
New engine (Blue top), E type gearbox, 3 blade warp drive. approx 30 hours.
This is the first time ive gone to full throttle apart from take off. I cruise at 5500rpm (max)
EGT's again

What are the EGT readings on take-off? Have you ever watched them or are you too busy watching airspeed, altitude, attitude and direction?
Do a static test. Don't be scared to run the motor up to full throttle on the ground. Let it go for a full 1 minute at WOT (Wide Open Throttle) and then for 2 minutes at your normal cruising RPM and then again 1 minute at WOT. Take EGT readings at the different throttle settings.
Take notes of your CHT temps as well during the different throttle settings.
Report back with your findings and we'll have a better chance of giving you an answer

Airspeed, altitude, or brains....you always need at least two
Re: EGT's again
Had a simmilar problem with my EGT's on a blue top 582. At full revs they would be around 540 deg C but as soon as I come off the throttle to cruise revs (anywhere between 5000 and 6000) they would shoot up to around 610 / 615 deg C. Moved the clip on the needles down 1 position and problem was solved. EGT now remains at around 540/550 deg C.
