Bacardi, that's a good question.

These exhausts are as ugly as sin. Remember those "wildcat" free-flow pipes :?:

Thanks Demon for the info on the Royal Repair exhaust shoppe :!:

Will anyone support an locally made Stainless steel or similar exhaust system. Surely there is somebody out there that can do something like this :?: :?:

apparently there is a company called Powerflow, I know they have a branch in Pinetown, and I'm sure they have one in JNB. They will make any exhaust out of a solid piece of stainless, as well as the silencer.

I think all the horrible springs and stuff are there for a reason, i.e. to dampen the vibration from the motor and preventing the exhaust from fracturing. I know the ball joint is supposed to be greased regularly with the Copper stuff to keep it flexible but I don't know many people who actually bother. IMHO

Morpheus,
Thanks for the latest comments, vibration is a real bugger on these machines so a "solid" one piece exhaust would take strain.
When we dismantled the exhaust before sending it in for powder coating, I noticed a lot of gunk on the ball joint. I will remember to smear some copper slip on it when we re-assemble. I'll use the same springs again and then loop either safety wire or thin cable thru the springs so they can't go overboard if they happen to get loose.

I use wire fishing traces. cost a few ronts each, but are easy to put through, and clip in place.
