exhaust for a 618

Postby Aerosan » Sat Aug 13, 2005 9:03 pm

Hi gents

I know this should be in the wanted bit but I also have a question or 2. Im looking for a 618 exhaust from behind the y-pipe onwards. I have one on right now build by a guy who designs and builds racing pipes for motorbikes ....it works OK, but it is very sesitive around 3500 upwards. Is this how a 618 is any way?
I hope someone has one lying around?

Secondly what size and pitch is right for the 618?

Aerosan :D

I ran a american tuned pipe on a 618 for a while- top end power was awesome but the motor was very peaky with nothing below 5000
It was kind of all or nothing- The noise used to piss peaple off as well  - I sounded like an MX bike when on the pipe- I changed to a standard pipe and the motor was smoother than a 582-

Hi

Redeye the thing is I cant get a 618 pipe no whare. Do you still have the tuned pipe around I might be able to de-tune it a bit and get the band a little wider.

Thanx for the reply

I sold it to a guy called sean- he was going to mod it for a 582 i think-
Dont bother the noise off these pipes is very laud as the motor comes on the pipe

One place where you may get a pipe is the guys that sell jet ski spares- the 618 is still used in jetskis -it makes about 100 hp in a jetski with makuni carbs- Now that would be a nice trike motor

I am sure you can order the stock standard exhaust pipe from Aviation Engines.

Hi Chainsaw

Well I went to Aiviation engines yesterday and got myself a new Warp drive prop :P That was the good bit. After a long chat to Narin I went away with a lot of new found wisdom and that is the thing that broke my heart. After looking at the motor it turns out to be a 643 jet ski motor. Now we are not sure if it is worth it to spend R6300-00 on a exhaust that might not work!
Well now Ill have to see from here.

Thanx once again.
