In my defence, I cannot see the mag switches (behind the radio) and had to abort my normal starting sequence because I had to retrieve the ignition key from the rear pocket because of some asshole using my trike's radio when I'm not there and leaving the circuit energised, me having a PAP battery next time out.
I would move either the radio or the mag switches

Howdy Bac,
If I were you, I would move either the radio or the mag switches (or both).
I would not fly with your described configuration.

Thanks for the advice, JY. I'll seriously consider the idea, but still think that some nice bright bi-directional hyperbrights will look real snazzy
What I would like to know, however, since it is not quite clear from the technical data, is what exactly is "earthed" by the mag switches (voltage and waveform is possible) and what effect will a drainage of say 20mA have on the spark generation involved?

If you really, really must connect a light use a Mag switch with a DPDT connection and connect the idiot lights on the second set of terminals isolated from the engine circuits. All this will do is indicate the position of the switch..
Please fuse them and watch out for smoke ! Why not move the radio as John says..

A double pole double throw is the simple solution, but if someone can direct me to the what and how much of what we earth with the mag switches, I may just be able to provide a quick and dirty solution that might be of use to others as an add-on without changing the existing hardware configuration.
