As long as it's not rusted to hell there is a guy here in CT that sand blasts it and then coats it with aluminium. It get's a matt silver colour and lasts forever

I painted mine(Trike's) with exhaust paint that I bought from our local Midas, but the aluminium with silver colour would look better.

If you want it black, buy the stuff they paint chimneys and braais with. It is heat resistant and sticks to most surfaces.

Hi Slider,

Had the same problem.

Use a 50/50 mix of raw linseed oil and turps. Paint the exhaust as soon as you land - the hotter the better. Bakes in and turns black. Does not get hard and any drips left underneath can be removed.

Also has a "lekker" smell - something like "newness". Cover exhaust to protect hanger cover.

Guys

I once got hold of a few cans of spray paint called SPEREX. It is made in the UK, and it really lasted with no discoloration. (Available in Silver and in Black)

I have been trying to get hold of more of it, but have not seen it for sale for a few years now. Super stuff if you can get hold of it.

Regards
Barry
