Ok, how do I go about to fit a spinner to my BB and How do I go about to chrome it before I fit it.

When I bought the plane I got a spinner with, made from fibber glass. But I'm to scared to cut it for it might be of balance. :? :? :?

Hi Bennie
On the spinner backplate there should be a mark made by a drill exactly in the middle. If you can't find it, take the backplate to a machine shop and ask them to index the centre for you.
Next carefully measure the distance between opposite prop mounting holes on your motor. Centre to centre. Measure it again, and again.......you get the picture, it's important. Then halve this measurement to get the radius from the centre of the back plate to the mounting holes. Use a compass, scribe a circle on the backplate. Devide this circle into however many prop bolts there are (6 I think). You can use the compass again, trial and error, till you get the correct spacing.
Now you have your prop bolt holes located. Drill the holes to the correct size.
Next cut out whatever clearance centre is required, I used a big drill first then a series of flapwheels till the hole was sized.
Lastly but very important: some of the older spinner kits had a very flexable back plate. If in doubt stiffen it up. I epoxied and riveted an alluminium plate onto mine. See picture. Just remember, measure twice, cut/drill once and you will be fine.

Ben, my spinner kom klaar ge-center. Jy sny net die twee gate uit, boor gaatjies, 10 van, sny draad, paint en fit. Die Backplate word van soliede alu billet op n draaibank gesny, en die cone word ook op die draaibank gepas. Slinger se moer. :D

Hi Mogas,

What is “dees” things?

OK - in fairness I am not a fundi on your type of plane and therefore have no base to offer proper advice. ':- ':-

Mogas

Very neat installation

Is this an inflight adjustable prop?

I am going to use an IVO inflight adjustable

Also I don't see any carb heating? I wasn't planning on putting any on either

Thanks Morph.
Yes, inflight VP, mecchanical, turn handle pulls cable for coarse, acts against springs in hub and centrifical force which both push fine, So if fails goes to fine pitch. Made in Chek(sp) Republic. Google Woodcomp.
No carbheat, not nescessary IMHO. Did lots of research.
Is the Ivo electric?

Yes it is,

You use limiters to prevent over or underpitching. The recommendation is to limit the max pitch such that you still have a climb of 200fpm in case of a failure. I have heard good and bad reports about it but I got the mechanism for 2K and the blades brand new for R4K. If I have problems I will just use the elctric trim the give the best general settings and leave it as such, pretty much as any other ground adjustable.

Mmmmm. Some unlucky sod made an emergency landing here on a road on Saturday because of those stupid bloody "filters". Recently warned another friend against using them, gave me clever backchat, and he too had an engine out, caused by this stupid "filter".
