Validity of Authority to Fly

Hi,

I was under the impression that the authority to fly is valid for one year. That is what it says on the document. No other limitation. Recently I was told that the ATF also lapses at 100 hrs. EINa is now coming up to 100 hrs, but the ATF only lapses in November. Do I have to do an ATF, or does it suffice if I do the appropriate maintenance tasks as recommended by the airframe and engine manufacturer?

Regards,
Arnulf

Hi,

All we have been doing for the past 8 years, is have an AP check out your plane, and fill out a CA 103-04 document. File the document in your aircraft logbook or file.

Read the Autho to Fly document properly, and you will see there are many little things of importance printed on that piece of paper.

Your Auth to Fly also lapses if the aircraft is involved in an Accident or Incident   and at change of ownership.

For peace of mind, call Andrea Swanepoel at CAA. 011-5451000
