At 70° C you will be on the money
I have assumed that you are asking about water temperature and not EGT or CHT etc. For water temperature ....
Not below 60° C and not above 80° C.
At 70° C you will be on the money.

Answer is 590º C.
Minus a factor of 35, divide by 9 and multiply by 5 gives you degrees C.DieselFan wrote:1100f
Answer is 592º C.

Actually mine register 560º C.

Does not compute...
If CHT or EGT can go 590 deg C or more...
what does a few deg C water temp matter?
As long as you are not boiling off coolant, up to 110 deg C or whatever your radiator cap can keep in is fine by me, higher temps shed more heat, engine should be more efficient as well?
Niren, please desist, engine buffs, relate!

John Young is correct
About 80 max, mine went to 110 degrees crank went, sound of silence, (twice) then I bought a 4 stroke..EGTs @ 1100 degrees F, this indicates carb rubbers etc.
Its a two stroke remember they dont have oil in them...

Centrifugal force in pure Physics does not exist, however this does not apply to Taxi drivers..

CHT at 590° C - not possible
Hello Abe,Abe wrote:If CHT or EGT can go 590 deg C or more...

CHT at 590° C - not possible - motor would be quiet long before that.
Water temp at 110° C - motor would also go quiet.

Sorry, John and all, on CHT I was mistaking Deg F and C.
Just dug out my CHT meter last used on the Hirth, it is calibrated in Farenheit and operation was around 550 deg F. It melted a hole between the plugs when running too lean in a powered descent, by the time I noticed 700 deg (F!) it was too late. (Virginia Airshow many moons ago, watched the rest of the show from the beach....)
Now, a question on water temperature..
John, just what goes wrong in a 582 at 100 deg C? (assuming no water loss) Are you sure the crank failures reported can be ascribed to this?

Boom - quiet - glide !
The same as when you take a BMW way past the red line on the rev counter and keep it there [assuming no rev limiter].Abe wrote:John, just what goes wrong in a 582 at 100 deg C?
In the event of flying with your 582 ....
BOOM
