Prop Options

Postby Rob F » Tue Jan 02, 2007 10:12 am

Guy's I need some advice.

I'm Flying a Thunderbird with a wooden P-Prop, I'm looking for an alternative (lower maintenance) According to Gareth Davies the Warpdrive doesn't perform well with the 582, and the wooden two blade is the best.

Does anyone know of an equivilent composite two blade prop.(or do I just have to keep maintaining the wooden one?)

Hi as far as i can remember you can get a composite two blade prop exactly from where i cannot say but i wil have a look around and get back to you.
I would actually suggest that the wood prop from PProp is actually the hassel free way to go. But that is my opinion. Use it don't use it :!: :?: :!:

Hi.

Have you had a look at the IVO Prop. Very cheap for the variable option as well. I use an Ivo fixed pitch three blade and it works like a dream. Also chat to Morpheus, he just ordered a variable pitch for his bushbaby.

I have a 582 and own both a P-Prop and a warp. I prefer the P-Prop any day. The warp looks nice and runs smoother but that is where it ends. The P-Prop is way better everywhere else.

What is the problem with the P-Prop. WHat sort of maintenance are you talking about?

As far as two blades go you can get a 2-blade warp drive. Look here http://www.warpdriveprops.com. You can also order directly from them.

2 blade is more efficient than a 3-blade but a little rougher. I'd prefer 2-blades anyday. Gadget mentioned that I have an in-flight adjustable 3-blade IVO. This is a new prop for my Bush Baby (currently being built). The only reason I wen't this route is a) I wanted in-flight adjustment and b) it was the cheapest option available. I can't give you any more regarding the performance expected etc.
