GARMIN 12XL - MAP ROTATION

How do I disable the flippin map rotating? The blip is always going up and the map turns when you turn, this throws my sense of direction out totally! I want the GPS to just face north or some constant?

Anyone got suggestions?

I don't know the particular GPS but should be in settings. There should also be a Pointer which should remain North.

In mine you go to settings and choose the option of track north, that way north is always up, you can then see where you are relative to land marks when giving radio calls, eg up would be north, left west etc

Download the manual here. Go to page 38. Dead simple. I have one in the KR. Works brillo's with easyplan to indicate sector boundries....

Got the gps without manual and wires etc. 2nd hand...the manual looks perfect thanks RV! As soon as I get my gps from the gov I will give it a try

Ditto. Mine from Cash Converters for R300 in 1999 (I think). Still works very well. Is compatible with most Garmin cables (lighter & Data). Check internet. local prices are very high for these. Some even make them and have pwiring diagrams on internet if you that way inclined... :wink:
