Related to a round the country tour, I though this qualified as a whole new topic :roll:

When is the best flying in your area?

I also want travel to fairer climes when the wind is pumping through Cape Town. Are there any windless havens close to Cape Town?

And a guide could serve people who trailer their trike on holiday with them.

Excellent idea! Perhaps also add whether hire-and-fly is possible in the area for wing-less folks like me. (Cape Town weather really s*cks these days, especially for the weekend-flier.)

Jan- Write off
Feb- Good, some windy days
March- Good
April- Good
May- Good but cold fronts put a stop to things
June - Good but cold fronts put a stop to things
July -Good but cold fronts put a stop to things
August- Very Good and cape is green
September- Very good
October- South Easter only early morning short flights
November - Write off
December - Write off

You can see average wind conditions (by month) for most areas in SA in Jan & Elzabe Coetzee's Microlight Airfields in South Africa.
