I fly a Powered Hang Glider, the Zee, which has a Black Devil engin. This weekend I test-ran the engin, when the starter motor bendix, which engages the crown wheel to swing the prop, must have failed to disengaged after the engin started. The second picture shows the bendix still engaged after I stopped the engin - this resulted in some smoke and a distinct electric burn smell. So I take it the starter motor revved at prop revs as a result which resulted in the coil melting/burning. I took the starter motor out, and now need to replace or repair it.
Do you know of anyone who can rewire it?
