VW Type 1 Engine push rod tubes and gaskets

Postby Bosvark » Tue Aug 23, 2016 9:11 pm

This engine has been standing on it's belly since I bought it. I mounted it last weekend on a mock-up firewall on a stand to be able to start sorting out manifolds etc. With it off the workbench I could see underneath it and discovered that the push rod tubes on one side has all been dented inwards in a straight line. The engine seems to have been dropped at the one side on an edge of some sort.

Volkspares sell these at R85-00 but I need to buy a complete gasket set to get the seals for the tubes and the paper cylinder gaskets.

Is there any place where I can source these without having to buy a complete gasket set?
