MGL Stratomaster

Postby Sad-Ham » Mon Dec 21, 2015 1:01 pm

The MGL Stratomaster digital instrument I have as of a few months ago no longer keeps the date and hobbs hours once I switch the trike off.
I now have to enter the correct hours every time I fly... the flight time is correctly added to the hours I enter but once I switch the trike off everything is zeroized.
This started about 6 months ago , until then it used to keep track of the hours correctly.

Is there maybe a internal battery or something like that that needs replacing?

Afimative, it is flat battery, a CR2032 if my memory serves me correctly.

I had a hell of a struggle getting the unit out to replace it. Getting a spanner in the back of the unit is really tricky.

Good luck.

I will have to remove my panel to get the instrument out (**) (**)

I don't see any place on the back where a battery could fit... do you have to open the instrument to get to the battery ?

Took out the unit this weekend .. Had to take the front panel off to get it out...., opened it up and replaced the battery. Everything now working as it should.

Thanks to Induna and John.com for the advice (^^) (^^) (^^) (^^) (^^) (^^)
