Recently 3 x 582 engines lost the needle roller big end bearing, pilot side. All in the Cape. 2x Blue and 1x silver. Resulting in damage through out the engine. Is this a weak point and any others out there?

Some of the pilots in the Cape does not put Filter Oil on their filters, because then it gets dirty. ## ##

As far as I know the cranck needs to be checked at 300 hours, if the run-out is within limits then it can go to 600 hours. I know of 2-strokes with over 1000 hours on the same cranck. It all depends on how one looks after it .

Or if one looks after the air cleaners well enough. A friend of mine did well over 1000 hrs in a Thunderbird. Same crank.
