kitfox 2 prop and speed

Postby Jon Hewitt » Mon Jun 29, 2015 3:53 pm

Hi all

Any kitfox 2 owners out there ,advice for a new pilot
I have recently purchased a kitfox 2 ,lovely little plane ,with a 582 blue top ,2 blade warp drive prop
I only get 70 -75 on her ,iam told that normal cruise is about 85 mph .is there anyone out there who has a kitfox 2 with a 582 .

What speed do you get ,and what prop are you using.

My current setting on the prop is 9 degrees ,has a good climb but cruises +-65 at 5800 ,also makes a hell of a noise at the initial power up and take off ,we tried to reset the prop to about 11 degrees ,noise was still there

Cheers. Jon

Hi John, been there done that, if you have a 3.47:1 ratio on the gearbox........then get a P-Prop 72x52 from Pieter De Necker. You will have better climb and cruise speeds.

Once we're on his plane X-32 put a propeller diameter of 1750 mm (3 gear), he began to fly almost as much as with the Rotax-912.
This applies to climb, and run, and cruising speed, and maximum speed.
Of course, it was the saber 3-bladed propellers.
Of course, it is the quietest.
The larger diameter will stop at maximum speed.
Small diameter will short-change forces at low speed.
he picture shows exactly it.

Thrust propeller diameter 69 "should be 175 kg.
