Radio/intercom..... again

Postby IceAge » Mon Jun 22, 2015 9:30 am

Sorry to bring this up again but I am very frustrated...... (**) (**)

I have not been flying my trike for some time and with the weather being perfect over the weekend decided to fly the Aquilla instead of the Savannah and it was awesome again but.......

The background is that the Sanna has a xcom radio and the comms is perfect. Getting onto the trike with a Buzzcom intercom, Vertex210 radio and a V-Rabbit aerial the comms was seriously shite.... almost to the extent that I wanted to switch it off and only fly vfr (was only in the circuit with two other planes).....

Now I have the following questions in order to get the comms sorted for once and for all:

1) Will a Xcom radio/intercom system work on a trike.
2) Alternatively what is your views on the MGL Transceiver model VHF-10
3) I am aware of the Airmagic system but this is currently not an option....
4) What other altenatives do you suggest.

I am basically interested in a panel mount system which is intigrated (ie. Radio and intercom all in one system).

I just cannot handle bad comms......

Any advise will be appreciated

Fly safe
