Rotax 503

Postby Louis Geldenhuys » Mon May 25, 2015 4:05 pm

Helloeee

Crank bearings ? Oil seal ? Ringe ? die goed wat saak maak ... Watse voorstelle is daar ?

Been Flying with 503DCDI for most of my Flying years now.

Gemini does 60MPH and I have gone as fast as 83 Straight and level with bar through my (**) but 503 Keeps pushing on.

To date only problem is with exhaust gaskets leaking every 50Hours or so.

Been to Margate and back and yea done some awesome flights.

Perfect Motor.

I have had 503 Rotaxes come my way with 2000hrs on the clock , The secret is good oil , kleen filters and the 300 hr decoke .
Any hrs after 300 , you start losing compression due to stuck rings , and the sleeves tend to run hotter and the crankshaft get grit in , matter of time and the conrods are knocking , decoke is well worth while every 300 hrs , my pennies worth (^^)

Ja Boet times are tough , I see many trikes gathering dust and eventually being sold at low prices , pity , but on the other side good deal for newbies (^^)
