Looks like the fuel filter tread has dissapeared. I used the Z29/68 GUD merc replacement filters on my aircraft for some time now. Thought the range was discontinued and send a mail to GUD SA and this was their reply:

Dear Mr Coetzee,
Many Thanks for your enquiry.
The Z29/68 is now called a BC68 and available from most Autozone
spares shops.
Please NOTE!!!!GUD is an Automotive supplier we do not recommend any
filters for Aircraft / Microlight applications. Any selection made is
purely at your own risk and we cannot be held liable for subsequent loss
or damage using our filter other then for its intended use as listed in
our catalogue.

With Thanks

Sounds like a little indemnity. same as the NGK plugs say not for planes - they haven't tested the product enough - and don't want a law suit on their hands.

Hi Cloud Warrior,

Agreed. My 582 manual states …

0.15mm in-line filter, and
0.30mm filter on pick-up pipe in tank.

Big warning against paper filters etc.

Cheers
