Noise in NC Prop

Postby Sad-Ham » Mon Jun 23, 2014 7:55 am

After yesterdays flight I was wiping exhaust residue my prop and tapped one of the blades.... There is what sounds like a rattle noise coming from the inside , almost as though there is something loose inside. Does anyone konw what this could be or where I can send the blade to have it checked out?

Must be one of the balancing rods he puts in the stub of the prop and then glues in, that has come loose.

Im sure he will fix it

I've never flown a NC prop but I have huge respect for them.
Fellow club member had a glove go through one on take off and it smashed the PU foam inside it, but the carbon fibre skin kept all together for a 10 minute flight back to base.

Best decision we made when rebuilding DBP! Awesome product... more thrust, less RPM in the cruise, better fuel consumption. (^^)

Planning to send ours back to Nigel after about 300hrs for a "re finish" and check up too. The only thing rattling so far are the marbles inside my head. ^
