Hi everyone,excuse my poor english as i im afrikaans!i have a problem that worrys me a lot,did the normal 25hour servise on my aquilla trike and when i had unscrew the bolt on the gearbox to drain the oil i noticed the tread in the gearbox is worn ou almost totaly!!!!now after replaysing the oil,the screw dont want to tighten and now it leaks a bit of oil.please please help me with what i can do,the thread of the gerbox is gone!

Andre , vind iemand wat kennis het van die ratkas ,om jou te help om dit af te haal. Neem dit na n goeie engineering firma waar hulle vir jou n "insert" kan insit. Probeer om nie n "Helicoil" te gebruik nie.

My afrikaans is rusty, but why would you NOT want to repair this stripped thread with a helicoil, they double the surface area of the threaded section and to my knowledge are used widely in aviation.
If this was my motor I would fix it with a heliciol, which can safely be done with the motor in situ.
An insert I would not consider, worse case situation is clean the original damaged thread section up to the next thread size.
I may stand corrected here by the wiser men.
I trust google can translate this to afrikaans for those need it.
