Is there any aerodynamic advantage to fitting a spinner to a pusher prop? Or would it just be for looks?

Yeah, and you can't check your prop bolts during the preflight with one on

Just looks nice. Spinner purely for airflow in tractor application...

Thanks for the feedback gentlemen.
Good safety point Morph - I did not think of that. Not worth it just from that aspect. As an aside - what do tractor type prop pilots then do wrt bolt inspection?
P.S. I am busy thinking up "doodah" projects to keep myself busy - am getting bored with just polishing and oiling my mistress.

If I had a spinner on I would definitely safety wire the prop bolts as a minimum. Wooden props would worry me because (and this is purely my opinion) as they can go out of balance if not stored horizontally, so can they swell and contract with variations in heat and humidity. Also when you originally torque your prop bolts on, there is an initial compression of the wood. This compression will put whatever moisture in the wood under pressure directly under the pressure point. With time the moisture will displace and the area directly below the pressure points will shrink, causing the bolts to become loose.
If you have a composite prop with a metal hub this is not a problem and torquing the bolts, with safety wiring will be enough

You should come and visit me sometime. I am about 300km east of you at Southern Cross. Can't miss it just follow the great eastern h/way. The airfield is almost in town. Not much to fly into around here. Away from the h/way there are no powerlines and the fences are normaly in the treelines. The rest is open fields and good enough to land anywhere. I am back online and will give co-ords soon (busy downloading google earth) dont know if there will be good resolution out here. Talk later.

Guys guys guys - it's the Kiwis that molest sheep - not the Aussies!

The only difference between the Kiwis and the Ozzie's is that the Kiwis do it with gumboots on. Neither know how to play Rugby or Cricket but that's another story.
