Need some pilots to test Android trackin "flight follower"

Postby hermand » Mon Jun 10, 2013 2:40 pm

We need some interested pilots to test an Android "flight follower" application. It is a small application you download on your Android phone that will send your position back to the internet where your pyw (previously young wife) can see what you are up to whilst you are flying. (**)
Please send me a message if you are interested. It will work wherever your phone can roam so you do not have to be in the RSA.

Hi Hermand,

We did chat. I would have loved to test it during the Bundu bash.

I was using another tracker phone system which tested perfectly until the day of departure and with the host web page down, no decent MTN coms the whole time and a k@k Nokia, no tracks were recorded.

Hi hermand,

Will be more than willing to test the system for you, been to Inhaca, Virginia and west coast in the past two months, so flying is no problem at all! planning trip to Gariep over a weekend as well as the slowveld before year end!

If there is grass between your toes , you're flying to low.....
If ever in doubt about flying - drink a beer.
That will give you at least 8 hours to think about it some more.

Is this similar to the Air nag pro feature where it records your flights and able to replay these back to you?

I'd be keen to test aswell, I usually fly twice a day, so you will have alot of data to review.
