Actually Guys the Plugs are burning Damn near perfect. Like weedy said, Ball hair rich but Perfect.

I just wanted some feedback cos like you guys the people out there have no Idea and well it is better to learn from somebody else's mistakes than to do it all by yourself.

I have some idea's i want to bounce off a couple of guys. Will chat to a local AP fellow and see if i can come up with something.

Great info. now know what to look for.
would it be correct if I said:

too rich = darker colour - basically a "waste" of unburnt full - I use the word "waste" loosely.

vs

too lean = whiter colour : on route to burn valves

Except there's no valves to burn on our 2 strokes.....more like overheating and a hole in the piston...

Good Day Gents.

You do touch some interesting aspects. We had some meetings with some of the major fuel suppliers. With all the current additives, including the two stroke oil that is being mixed in, the change to unleaded fuel, the different octane ratings etc, it is nearly impossible to state that the mixture is correct, too lean or too rich, based on the color of the spark plugs. It would seem that plugs on average burns darker with the usage of unleaded fuel. (Take a look and see what your car's exhaust pipe look like.)

It is suggested that the manufacturers recommendations being followed. I know that the Rotax manual has an interesting graph making provision for altitude etc. This gives you the suggested needle and jetting information.

Greetings

I prefer to run a 503 DCDI on 155 main jets instead of the recogmended 150 , reason being hole in the piston , slightly more lubrication , less heat , with 155 jets the exhaust will still burn white with unleaded petrol , if it is darker clean them airfilters , remember enrich the talliban by replacing jet needles and needle jets every 200 hours , Leprechaun
