Hi Guys,
I am looking for information on EGTs and CHTs on 503's
- General information, pros, cons?
- Mounting and wire supporting information and pictures if possible. (apparently if the wires are not supported right they vibrate and break at the sensor)
I bought a set and contemplating the best way to install.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Rudi

Rudi, I'm not sure if this is what you wanted but here goes:
Presuming you have the CHT sender that looks like a washer...it will go under the plug IN PLACE OF THE NORMAL PLUG WASHER
I have in the past used a piece of fuel line and had the wire lead go through the fuel line. The fuel line gets tied off between anything you can find close by to the head with another piece of tubing and a cabletie. This will prevent it from breaking off due to vibration.
You can also make a wire brace of about 4" long that can clamp around the spark plug and tie the wire lead off it with a standoff.
The EGT sender wire gets coiled for about 4" at the point where it exits the probe and thereafter it gets tied off with a standoff of any sort to something sturdy.
I'll post some pics once I can sort out my antique scanner :D
Let me know if you require the distance that the EGT probe needs to be placed from the cylinder. I have that info somewhere on my PC....just gotta find it :D
As for pros and cons.....there are no cons in my opinion..you just can't be without it.

Hi Duck,
Thanx, that is exactly what I was looking for, mounting options.
Anybody else got some pictures?

Hi Duck,
Not to worry about the distances, my Y pipe has got threaded spacekeepers for the EGT senders.
Thanx,
Rudi
